Critique about the sword of king Gou Jian of Yue

The sword of king Gou Jian of Yue is an ancient bronze sword that was made by the originator of sword making Ou Ye Zi  about 2400 years ago. Even though it was buried underground for over 2400 years, it still didn’t rust.

The sentence, “The king of Yue’s personal sword”, was engraved on it. The word is in calligraphy, which is even harder in ancient times because ancient Chinese words are twisted round.

The sword is 55.6 cm long and weight 875 g. The sword body is 45.6 cm long, that makes it in perfect balance. There are dark plaid on the sword body. The Cross-guard of the sword is decorated by black colored glass and turquoise on both sides, the hilt is strapped by silk rope (which is extremely expensive at that time) , the sword head is expended and disk like, and has 11 meticulous concentric circles at the bottom. The blade was still shiny, chilling and sharp when the experts took it out, the experts said that is is because the sword had gone through sulfate process.

It’s elegant style, amazing rust resistance, and the outstanding sharpness make people call it the king of bronze swords. The maker of it is surely the supreme master of sword making.
